I want you to know that I’ve been leading this new church plant for a little over a year now. And I was doing fairly well. However, the one thing that grew increasingly difficult were the finances needed for my treatments. Once the pandemic hit, I was no longer able to see my physical therapist. This meant that each time I preached or performed other activities, my body was not able to recover or integrate like I was accustomed to. I was no longer able to break even; instead, many times, my body would increase in pain and decrease in mobility. This has been a real challenge.

As the COVID-19 season has moved on, I’ve begun seeing my physical therapist again. However, I've still been unable to preach without exasperating my injury due to previous lack of treatments. I have worked hard to step back into weekly leadership meetings and several other high level pastoral duties; but I'm far from fully regaining the momentum and strength I once had. Each leadership meeting creates an increased level of pain, a lessening of mobility, and a required time to rest. This is supplemented with a multitude of physical therapy exercises to help me recover.

Some days are better, some days are worse. Rather it is neurological symptoms, vocal issues, spinal issues, or my Lyme Disease; I work hard to continue leading this church into a deeper relationship with God; while striving to be a great father and husband at home as well. In fact, we spend more family time and game nights this season than we ever have before.
