The truth is, God had been working a plan to collide Brandon and Jack’s stories from as early as January of 2017. First meeting and then connecting as co-laborers at Sonrise Church of Hillsboro Oregon, a mutual admiration for one another’s story quickly developed.
Jack, who suffers from diabetes alongside an auto-immune disease; was serving as the Kid’s Pastor of Sonrise Church. As the shepherd for the most energetic and eager age group within the church, God gave Jack a passion to see kids meet, understand, and grow in Jesus in such a manner that propelled him beyond his physical challenges. As a result, a successful and revitalized children’s ministry grew. Brandon invited Jack to serve as an accountability mentor for the Journeymen Discipleship Program. It was there that Jack saw a glimpse of the call and vision upon Brandon’s life to make much of Jesus in unique and impactful ways. Recognizing Brandon’s desire to plant a multicultural, multiethnic expression of church where families and individuals could find redemption, wholeness, and joy in Christ, Jack and his wife Vanessa approached Brandon and Jillian to partner alongside them towards that vision. Humbled and encouraged, Brandon knew an important bridge was being built.
Brandon, who suffers from Lyme Disease and a disability from a chiropractic injury; was serving as the Young Adult Pastor and Staff Coach of Sonrise Church—alongside his responsibilities as Director of the Journeymen Discipleship Program. Despite his physical limitations, God strengthened Brandon to develop a healthy young adult ministry; while successfully leading many staff members through strategic coaching to achieve their personal best in God and leadership. As a result, Brandon’s influence within the community grew. When Jack approached Brandon regarding Making Much of Christ Ministries’ church plant initiative, the beginning of an amazing journey was preparing to be set into motion.
An evening etched in the stone of our story…

By faith, RCC exists to glorying God by making disciples through gospel-centered worship, service, covenant family, and multiplication. We are resolved to RISK our comfort—> so that we might REACH our city—>with a message that can RELEASE freedom in Jesus—> in order that many would experience a REDEEMED life in Christ; for the glory of God. We hope you will consider becoming a part of our church family. Our story begins now...
